Standing committees are designed to oversee and manage key aspects of church administration, such as finances, physical plant, staffing (both paid and volunteer), and stewardship. St. Paul’s current standing committees are Budget/Finance, Buildings and Grounds, Ministry Review/Compensation, Nominating, and Stewardship.
Budget and Finance Committee Oversees the development of the budget and plans financial action for the parish. Composed of the treasurer, assistant treasurer, stewardship chair and assistant, and two parishioners appointed by the Vestry.
Building and Grounds Committee Oversees the maintenance and repair of the church sanctuary, parish hall, parking lot, and grounds. Composed of a chair from the Vestry, two Vestry members, and two parishioners.
Ministry Review and Clergy Compensation Committee Conducts an annual review and evaluation of the rector’s performance and determines increases in salary and/or benefits. Composed of the senior warden, treasurer, a Vestry member, chair of the Stewardship Committee, and two parishioners.
Nominating Committee Selects and nominates candidates for vestry and officer positions. Composed of the three retiring vestry members and three parishioners appointed by the Vestry.
Stewardship Committee Develops and conducts the stewardship campaign. The chair is appointed by the rector. The committee is composed of at least two Vestry members, and as many parishioners as deemed appropriate by the chair. Volunteers are often used to implement portions of the stewardship campaign, but their service is as-needed and they do not become members of the committee.
